Guidelines
Constellation Energy corporate contributions program utilizes the following guidelines:
- Constellation Energy will only consider one contribution request per year from organizations classified as IRS 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit, located in areas where the company has significant business interests.
- The corporate contributions budget is established annually on the basis of the company’s net income. A Corporate Contributions Committee, comprised of employees representing all the Constellation companies and selected for their expertise, administers the giving program.
- The company and its employees provide strong support to the annual United Way campaign; therefore, we do not give additional general operating/project support to United Way agencies.
- We place special emphasis on organizations that have company employees on their boards and as volunteers, and whose purposes are aligned with our giving focus areas.
- It is important that organizations demonstrate a broad base of community support as well as support from other corporations and foundations.
- We do not contribute to individuals, churches, religious causes, individual schools, sport teams or events, or organizations that actively oppose the company’s position on issues, nor do we provide support for start-up funding.
- We do not provide support to hospitals’ capital campaigns.
- We expect organizations receiving contributions to be in compliance with the requirements of the Equal Employment Opportunities Act, Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, and other federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Recipients of Constellation Energy contributions will be expected to report on the use and effectiveness of the contribution. Program effectiveness and results will be used in evaluating requests for future grants.
- The Corporate Contributions Committee meets biannually, in June and October, to review significant financial grant requests of $10,000 or more. Grant requests should be submitted by April 1 for the May meeting and September 1 for the October meeting.
Sponsorships and In-kind requests will be reviewed on an on-going basis throughout the year. All proposals will receive a response in writing after a decision has been made.
Please allow six to eight weeks for processing requests.
