Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) - Constellation Energy has been listed on the Dow Jones Sustainability North American Index since 2005. The index tracks the financial performance of the leading sustainability-driven companies worldwide. Corporate Sustainability is a business approach that creates long-term shareholder value by embracing opportunities and managing risks deriving from economic, environmental and social developments.

2006 EPA C2P2 Environmental Achievement Award recognized Constellation Energy for the environmental benefits including reductions in greenhouse gas emissions from beneficial uses of coal ash from our Baltimore generation facilities.

2006 Tree Line USA Utility BGE is a three time recipient of this national certification sponsored by the National Arbor Day Foundation and the National Association of State Foresters. To receive this endorsement, the public or private utility must demonstrate practices that protect and enhance America's urban forests. The criteria that must be met include: Quality Tree Care, Annual Worker Training, Tree Planting and Public Education.

2006 PLANT (People Loving and Nurturing Trees) Award BGE is a three time recipient of this State award sponsored by the MD Department of Natural Resources, the State Forest Conservancy District Board, and the MD Urban and Community Forest Committee. BGE received the highest of the 4 levels of this award - the Green Award, which recognizes communities and organizations for their tree planting and tree care efforts and organized, fully functional programs which are funded and have full-time technical assistance.

2006 EPA WasteWi$e Program Hall of Fame recognized Constellation Energy's waste prevention and recycling efforts. The company has won seven WasteWise awards since joining as a charter member in 1994. WasteWise promotes waste reduction and recycling as a way for companies to save money and reduce emissions of greenhouse gases.

2005 Green Star Award - The Mayor and City of Annapolis presented this Outstanding Business Award for Environmental Excellence to BGE. BGE contributed funds to plant hundreds of trees along the Naval Academy Stadium trail and Truxton Park. They also acknowledged the educational effort of BGE to provide an informative storyboard about planting the "Right Tree - Right Place" along Poplar Trail.

2004 EPA Natural Gas STAR Program recognized Constellation Energy for consistent emissions reductions over the last 10 years and its continuing program participation.

2004 Wildlife Habitat Council Recertification of our Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant recognized the active involvement of employee volunteers to sustain habitat management projects.

2004 Tree Line USA Utility status from the National Arbor Day Foundation honored BGE's work to promote dependable energy service and abundant, healthy trees in communities we serve.

2004 Earth Day Award for Sunnyside (UT) plant’s purchase and recycling of waste coal.

2004 ARIPPA Rock Burner Award to Panther Creek (PA) for operating at peak capacity with lower emissions than other like-sized, coal-fired plants.

2004 Greenscape Award from the City of Annapolis recognized Constellation Energy for its participation in the Navy Stadium Trail bioretention and planting project and support of other green initiatives.

2004 PLANT (People Loving and Nurturing Trees) Award from the Maryland Department of Natural Resources Forest Council citing BGE's removal of 300 fast-growing trees under overhead lines and replacement with trees better suited to that location.

City of Annapolis Business Volunteer Award - The City of Annapolis Recreation and Parks Department recognized BGE for their assistance in the Greenscape Program, since 2004. BGE staff and their tree trimming contractors have helped the city sort plants for the different communities in Annapolis to pick up the next day. The Greenscape Program helps to provide more trees, shrubs, and flowers to the communities in Annapolis.

2003/2004 Clean Air Exemplar Award from the Mojave Air Quality Management District to our High Desert (CA) plant for producing more power with lower emissions.

2003 Governor’s Environmental and Economic Leadership Award for our Mammoth Pacific (CA) geothermal facility for its evaporative cooling project to increase generation during hot summer months.

2003 PLANT Award to Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant given by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources Forest Council noted the company's reforestation and management programs that protect 1,900 acres of woodlands on the 2,100-acre site.

2003 EPA WasteWise Program Awards recognized Constellation Energy's waste prevention and recycling efforts. EPA presented Constellation with the Program Champion award in the Climate category, for efforts that avoid greenhouse gas emissions, as well as an Honorable Mention award for recycling accomplishments in the Large Business category. Constellation is a charter member of EPA's WasteWise program established in 1994.

Adopt-a-Park" Award - Harford County Parks and Recreation Department recognized BGE for adopting Flying Point Park. Since 2003, BGE volunteers have planted and maintained over one hundred trees and shrubs in this park, which is partly owned by BGE.

Wildlife Habitat Council Recertification of our Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant recognized the active involvement of employee volunteers to sustain habitat management projects. The Calvert Cliffs Plant has been WHC certified since 1993.
