Our competitive power supply business focuses on serving the full-requirements power needs of distribution utilities, co-operatives and municipalities that competitively source their load requirements. We also supply customized products to merchant generators and utilities with in-house resources but that regularly need to buy or sell supplemental blocks of energy.
Through our gas business, we provide physical natural gas products to meet the fuel supply needs of downstream customers, including local distribution companies, power generators, retail aggregators, industrials and large end-users in the United States and Canada. We offer risk management and customized financing to upstream customers, including independent oil and gas producers throughout North America. We use a variety of structures including equity, debt and volumetric production payments to customize financing, often at more favorable rates than might otherwise be available from traditional capital sources.
CCG has been an active participant in the domestic coal market for a number of years, managing fuel supply for Constellation Energy plants. More recently, we expanded our portfolio of suppliers to include international sources, and now offer this service to both our domestic and international customers. Today we are actively managing coal supply for customers in Europe, the Far East and the United States, and importing coal from such countries as South Africa, Russia, Poland, Colombia and Venezuela.
