If you do press 1, a representative will tell you they will send you a $100 gift card if you provide your banking information. You will also be charged a $4.95 shipping fee. We have reported this issue to the Federal Trade Commission.

  • Constellation will never ask a customer to provide their payment information in exchange for an incentive.
  • DO NOT communicate or interact with suspicious phone calls, emails or text messages. Scammers can manipulate caller ID. If you have a doubt, hang up and call the phone number on your electric bill or our Contact Us page.
  • We will never personally request banking or credit card information over the phone. If you would like to make a payment by phone, our customer care representatives will transfer you to an automated system to collect your payment information.
  • We will never charge a customer to receive a gift card.

Additional Information and Steps to Take:

If you believe that you may be the victim of identity theft or someone has fraudulently taken funds under a false identity, you should follow the steps below to report this activity:

  • The FTC provides suggestions for actions in the event of identity theft, including information about fraud alerts and security freezes, at consumer.ftc.gov/features/feature-0014-identity-theft.  You can also contact the Federal Trade Commission at 1-877-ID-THEFT (438-4338) (TTY: 1-866-653-4261).
  • You may obtain a free copy of your credit report from each of the credit bureaus once a year by going to annualcreditreport.com or by calling 877-322-8228. You can also place a fraud alert or security freeze on your credit report by contacting the credit bureaus.
  • If you do find suspicious activity in your credit report, call your local police or sheriff’s office and file a police report of identity theft.
  • Register your phone number through donotcall.gov.
  • Call your bank or financial institution to report the incident and minimize damage.
